Rugby Ladies' Day: Discover and play Touch and Contact Rugby on May 14th

Come experience and learn one of the fastest  growing sports in the world – Touch Rugby - alongside one of the most popular sports - Contact Rugby - in a day dedicated to rugby for women and girls.

The Rugby Club de Luxembourg  (RLC), together with the Fédération luxembourgeoise de rugby (FLR) and Touch Luxembourg, is running its second Rugby/Touch Ladies Day of 2023 on Sunday, May 14th from 10am to 1pm at Sport Fields Boy Konen, Cessange. The day is free of charge.

The first time we ran it we didn't know what to expect and it was an incredible success! More than 50 girls and women, age 6 to 54, joined us, learned about rugby and especially, had a lot of fun!

Following the success of the first Ladies' Day, we are now organising another one designed to show women and girls (from 8 years of age) the beauty, simplicity and joy of Touch and Contact Rugby. No previous experience is required as the main goal is to simply enjoy a great day of rugby! And if you are experienced, please do come along and share why you love this sport!

Those who attend will:

·      Learn the key skills of Rugby Touch and Contact through fun activities

·      Play some Rugby  Touch games and Contact (if you wish so)

·      Meet and engage with Senior Touch and Rugby Contact players from Luxembourg, including some of the Luxembourg Women  National Rugby team!!

To attend please sign up through via the QR code on the poster or via email by sending the player's name and age at  info@rcl.lu.

No specialist equipment is needed, just a pair of trainers/running shoes and a desire for fun.

Many people think of Rugby as a male sport. But in fact, women rugby is gaining popularity around the globe, especially thanks to the values that it teaches, like integrity, solidarity, respect, and the the camaraderie and life long friendships that players develop.

And if contact rugby is not for you, fret not. There is a non contact form called Touch, which is very popular and in countries such as Australia and New Zealand. Here Luxembourg RCL Touch club has 28 girls & women playing.

Please share this with the women in your life: mums, daughters, wives, sisters, nieces and neighbours, all welcome!!
