Movember 2016

What a Movember! This year RCL gathered donations of over €4600 for the Movember Foundation which more than doubles our highest contribution in past years – an amazing result helping RCL to finish in 9th place** for teams of 11 or more.

RCL thanks the local press for getting the word out, notably Delano and the English Wort as well as The Tube Bar for hosting our MoParty on 26th. Spontaneous donations at collection boxes in Cessange, Walferdange and The Tube made the difference helping to push our total to new heights.

Other highlights were Charlie Stone becoming the youngest RCL Movember participant at 19 years old and both Guido Chimienti and Ruadhrí Guilfoyle each raising more than 1000 EUR for the team!
Showing there’s more ways to get involved with Movember, our team ran a distance of 517.45 km collectively as part of the MOVE challenge encouraging physical activity during Movember.

Finally we send our gratitude to Ferber’s Barbershop for a total pampering and shave off! We’ll look forward to making the shave off a regular event!

Please congratulate our team on their fundraising efforts and if you haven’t already, click the button below to visit our MoSpace.

*Technically there’s no “cut-off date” for Movember donations and the charity functions all year round. To be counted towards this year’s total, donations should be made before 11:00pm on December 8, 2016. Donations after that count for next year.

**The Movember Foundation is a global organisation raising funds and awareness for prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health. Due to the payment types accepted and the website’s language, we contributes by way of Movember Ireland.
