RCL Lightning welcomed Strasbourg Touch and Brussels Buffaloes

28 November 2023

On a freezing Sunday, RCL Lightning welcomed Strasbourg Touch and Brussels Buffaloes for the first International Junior Touch tournament in Luxembourg.

The 75 players, both boys and girls, warmed up quickly as they played some dazzling touch in three mixed age groups: U9, U12 and U15. RCL Touch's U15s beat Strasbourg but lost to the experienced Buffaloes, who won their division. The U12 girls held their own against the boys with smart and cooperative play.

"This tournament is part of our road to play competitive games against local touch clubs. It's great to see so many girls competing and holding their own. That's the beauty of touch: kids of different ages, sizes and abilities can play safely together. In fact, we have so many girls now playing in the junior club, we need more boys!" said Head Junior Touch Lee O'Keefe.
