The Patterson Family Trust Fund
The Patterson Family Rugby Trust Fund was conceived in 2009. The Fund has been named in MEMORY OF Stuart Patterson who died in 2008.
During his life, he was a keen rugby supporter and his son David plays with RCL.
The RCL Juniors embrace the concept of inclusion, and encourage all to participate regardless of size, sporting ability, gender. We believe rugby is a game for all and everyone is treated as an equal. As in all sports there is an element of competition, and every year, RCL enters a number of selection teams in certain tournaments abroad, places for these selection teams are restricted. Selection is one of the highlights of a player's season; it is based on merit, all the hard work put in at training and in competitions, and adhering to all the Fundamentals of Rugby.
The broad aim of the Fund is to help the Rugby Club Luxembourg's selected Junior players, in need of financial assistance, in covering costs associated with their selection, and to help further the development of the Junior section as a whole.
The Fund is maintained by contributions from the Patterson Family and by other anonymous & voluntary donations.
The Fund is administered by the RCL Junior Treasurer, the Head Coach, and a representative of the Patterson family:
• Ian Dennis (Junior Treasurer)
• Alex van Zeeland (Junior Head Coach)
• Alison Patterson (Representing the Patterson Family)
Financially disadvantaged players/families could request support, to assist in the funding of the expenses of a selection. All requests will be treated in complete confidentiality.
If no requests for support have been made for specific tours, a part of the seasonal funding will be applied to further the development of the Junior section as a whole.
