This could be an exciting season for RCL and I hope that we can continue with the successes of last season, with the Senior side finishing 3^rd in the Second Bundesliga in our first season in Germany and we hope to improve on that this season.

 

The numbers of Juniors increased again last year and this season we hope to have more U15 boys playing for RCL, if anybody knows of boys born in 1996 & 1997 and could or should be playing rugby then push them to get in touch with the club.

 

 

Taking Rugby to prison. We have approached the Directors of Schrassig prison and the youth centre at Dreiborn about introducing rugby to both institutions. We will start at Schrassig towards the end of the year as their pitch is being resurfaced, and the proposed date for starting at Dreiborn is the 21^st September.

Following on from the success of the 1^st XV in Germany last season and the failure of the 2^nd XV to secure games in Belgium, we have decided to move the 2^nd XV to Germany as well. They will play in the Rheinland-Pfalz Regional League, we already have the fixture list and the first game is on the 25^th September and 2^nd XV training starts on the 31^st August.

More good news for the coming season is that through our sponsors at ORANGE we will be setting up an SMS news and information service, when the service is up and running we will distribute the information on how to register. Then you will get an SMS of any news, whether it’s the result of a game or tournament, cancelled training or simply for parents to be told what time their offspring will return to Luxembourg if they have been away.
